In the Spring of 2025 Virginia Thorpe worked with a grassroots community organization called The Vegetable Project in the City of Albany. She built a mobile chicken tractor coop for Meyer's Middle School (student population of 650) and provided agricultural based lesson plans for grades 6 through 8 on the care of farm poultry. The goal of the Vegetable Project and now the extended Chicken Project is designed to give urban youth a hands on experience with the food cycle designed around the plants and animals they consume. Chickens from WellSpring Maith Earrach Farm  will visit the school in the Fall and Spring of each year for a Farm Meet-and-greet of ducks and chickens  with the classroom students and teachers.

The following two Scouts are members of the

Inaugural Class of Female Eagle Scouts

  The Boy Scouts of America first accepted females to its program in 2019. Many of the female Scouts that started that year achieved their Eagle ranks within a compressed timeline, due to their age upon joining. The year 2021 was the earliest year or first year female Scout could possibly achieve the rank of Eagle. These Scout will always be recognized and listed as members of an exclusive historic event.

  Extra note to these extraordinary Scouts having completed their Eagle requirements during the global pandemic to include their leadership requirements. They were not only the first Eagles but also had to create new ways to accomplish their requirements, not just follow the path of prior Scouts.

Service project: For her service project, Karla organized the restoration of the historic 208-year old Yates Family Cemetery in the hamlet of Alplaus. This including marking the graves of two Revolutionary War veterans who are buried in the cemetery.
