"The Pride of Kitsap County"

Venturing is a youth-led program all about building adventures with your friends. Choose to do activities that matter to you and develop essential skills like leadership, event-planning, organization, communication, and responsibility while having a blast!

Venturing BSA, Crew 1506 is Chartered by Peace Lutheran Church and was founded in 2021 to provide an opportunity for high adventure for older youth in the community not interested in the traditional scouting program.

Crew 1506 is "Outdoorsmanship" focused. Venturer Scouts learn the skill, knowledge, and practice of thriving and behaving responsibly in the natural world. It moves beyond simply being outside to mastering the practical and ethical arts of wilderness survival, navigation, and conservation. Venture Scouts work on the following:

Core Pillars of Outdoorsmanship:
Bushcraft & Survival: Mastering fire craft, shelter building, knot tying, and foraging.Navigation: Using a map, compass, and terrain association without relying on digital GPS.Land Stewardship: Practicing Leave No Trace principles to minimize human impact on ecosystems. Harvesting: Engaging in sustainable hunting, tracking, fishing, and processing of wild game. Risk Management: Understanding weather patterns, wilderness first aid, and wildlife safety.

Essential Skills to Develop:
Fire Craft: Lighting fires in wet or windy conditions using minimal tools like flint and steel. Camp Craft: Setting up camp efficiently, managing camp hygiene, and handling knives or axes safely. Tool Maintenance: Keeping blades sharp, repairing gear in the field, and maintaining waterproof layers. Weather Reading: Observing cloud formations and barometric changes to predict sudden weather shifts.

We meet at the Tracyton Scout Hall; located at 5164 Bunker St NE, Tracyton on Mondays at 6 PM (except holidays). Please contact us in advance at beascout@crew1506.org if you would like to visit one of our meetings.
